United Spinal Association has launched a community survey to inform its advocacy efforts, research, grant applications and new program development.
“We’re always striving to improve the programs, resources, and support we offer — and your input makes all the difference,” United Spinal said in a Sept. 4 news announcement of the survey. “Please take a few minutes to complete our short survey and help shape the future of our offerings. Your voice matters, and we truly appreciate your time and insights.”
The survey asks about the participant’s experiences with various United Spinal events and resource offerings. The survey also asks what additional programs and advocacy projects could be helpful.
Survey participants can choose to be entered into a drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card.
Most recently, United Spinal opposed the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services home health proposed rule that would add ostomy and urological supplies to the Medicare competitive bidding program.
Another current United Spinal project is SecureRide Coalition, a group “advocating for a universal docking system standard that would create a new era of independent travel. This solution is simple, yet transformative: It would establish a standardized interface on all wheelchairs — a single, universal docking point” for wheelchairs to be secured inside other vehicles, including buses, trains, cars and airplanes.
Wheelchair riders would be able to secure their wheelchairs independently, without caregiver or vehicle driver assistance, in a securement system that complies with the ANSI/RESNA WC19 standard.
