United Spinal’s StrongWheeled Together Awards Open for Nominations

May 12, 2023 by Laurie Watanabe

United Spinal Association is now accepting nominations for its second annual StrongWheeled Together Awards, to be presented live in Las Vegas as part of the StrongWheeled Together Conference.

“We are looking for wheelchair users who excel in the fields of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Performing Arts, Sports & Recreation, Visual Arts, Writing, and Youth Leadership,” the announcement said.

Nominations are due no later than June 1, and people who use wheelchairs are welcome to nominate themselves, the announcement added.

The StrongWheeled Together Award is described as “for the grassroots and by the grassroots — community members who change the game in their field and change the way our society perceives disability.” United Spinal is encouraging qualified nominees “from seasoned and genre-defining talent to up-and-coming upstarts who are rewriting the rules.”

United Spinal will cover the costs of “awardees’ and their personal care attendants’ flights and lodging for the duration of the conference.”
