The University of Pittsburgh’s International Seating Symposium (ISS) team has announced details for its 2024 Virtual Professional Summit (VPS).
The two-day VPS takes place Wed., Feb. 7, 2024, and Wed., March 6, 2024. Each day runs from 10 a.m. Eastern to approximately 4 p.m. Eastern, with educational presentations, virtual product demonstrations from sponsors, and “social discussions.”
All presentations will also be recorded for on-demand viewing, with attendees able to earn CEUs from those recordings or by attending the live sessions.
Educational Sessions & Manufacturer Demos
The schedules for the two days appear identical, with four hour-long instructional courses per day and two 30-minute “Supporter Spotlight” sponsor presentations per day.
There are 15-minute breaks between sessions and an hour-long Town Square Social from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern both days.
Presenters and topics aren’t yet listed. The ISS team said presenters are being “hand-picked by the International Seating Symposium team and our advisory board to showcase knowledge and expertise on a breadth of interesting topics.”
While there will be four sponsor presentations in total, the VPS won’t have a virtual exhibit hall. The ISS team referenced feedback that “informed us that their experiences in virtual exhibit halls have not been lucrative — and we understand.” ISS is offering supporter packages for vendors and noted that space is limited.
Registration Costs & Timing
Registration is not yet open, but you can join the mailing list to be notified when registration begins.
Standard registration, which provides access to all ISS:VPS content, will be $349. VPS registrants also get a $50 discount for the 2025 International Seating Symposium, scheduled in person for March 20-22, 2025, in Pittsburgh. Pre-conference sessions will take place March 18-19, 2025.
“Every year, we do our best to take feedback from our attendees, presenters, and exhibitors,” the ISS: VPS team said via its Web site. “We learned that while everyone loves to see each other in person, the cost of travel has made our guests less likely to visit the same location two years in a row. But there is still a need for high-quality education on an annual basis. So, the ISS team decided to host the VPS in 2024, then put our efforts into making ISS 2025 the best in-person event possible!”
