The University of Pittsburgh’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is inviting candidates to apply for a new position as the Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology’s Director of Continuing Education.
In a Sept. 26 announcement, the university said the position is for a full-time (12-month), non-tenure-streamed faculty member “who is committed to excellence in the management and delivery of high-quality continuing education, teaching, research, and clinical service in the field of assistive and rehabilitation technology.”
The position is negotiable and could include Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor.
Responsibilities would include providing leadership and administration of the Rehabilitation Science & Technology’s Continuing Education Program; leading the development and refinement of Continuing Education programs, such as symposia, workshops, online learning and certificate programs; overseeing marketing recruitment, student success and program outcomes; and promoting productive and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, such as clinical, industry, government and research entities.
The new director will also assist in planning and operating the International Seating Symposium, which the University of Pittsburgh hosts in odd-numbered years.
Qualifications include a doctoral degree in occupational or physical therapy or a doctoral degree in a rehabilitation field with an emphasis on assistive technology; current or current eligibility for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania licensure; and ATP board certification from RESNA.
