USM Adds Medical Mobility to Portfolio

June 15, 2012 by Mobility Management

United Seating & Mobility (USM) has completed a stock purchase of Medical Mobility, a DME and complex rehab technology provider with locations in Goodlettsville, Murfreesboro and Cookeville, Tenn.

In a news announcement about the acquisition, USM said Medical Mobility “will continue business as a wholly owned subsidiary of USM.”

Medical Mobility’s product offerings include mobility-related DME, including lift chairs, rollators, scooters and automotive vehicle lifts. The complex rehab portion of the business features a staff of ATPs and service technicians specializing in customized adult and pediatric seating & mobility, including specialty manual chairs and power chairs.

Medical Mobility was established in 1989 and serves communities in mid Tennessee, southern Kentucky, northern Georgia and Alabama.

“The addition of Medical Mobility’s capable associates and strategic locations in Tennessee opens a new market for us and connects us regionally to our locations serving Kentucky, Georgia and Arkansas,” said Bob Gouy, USM’s president and CEO. “Most importantly, entering this market creates an opportunity to enhance our service to the regional rehab centers in these states as well as their patients with complex mobility needs.

“We are very excited to welcome Medical Mobility to USM and look forward to the synergy this new region brings.”

USM is based in St. Louis and currently has locations in more than 20 states throughout the country.
