VGM Canada is calling for nominations for its HME Leader of the Year contest for 2025.
Previously, the award has been given to the HME Woman of the Year. But for 2025, the contest’s eligibility rules were expanded.
“The Canadian HME Leader of the Year Award is open to all individuals working in the HME or mobility industry in Canada,” a June 6 press release from VGM Canada said. “We all know someone deserving of recognition for their consistent and exemplary contribution they make to the HME and mobility industry. This is often in the quiet way they impact lives on an individual basis or through their influence on a broader scale. Whether they are under the radar or high profile, they make a rich contribution to the lives of the people served and the industry.”
In explaining the change in eligibility, “At VGM Canada, we believe that leadership knows no bounds,” said Dave Davies, president of VGM Canada. “Renaming the HME Woman of the Year Award to the HME Leader of the Year Award reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusivity and equity. This change ensures that we recognize and celebrate all individuals — regardless of gender — who are making meaningful, often quiet, contributions to the HME and mobility industry across Canada. It’s about honoring impact, not identity.”
VGM Canada is accepting nominations through June 30. The 2025 winner will be announced at the Canadian Seating and Mobility Conference on Sept. 9 in Toronto.
Last year’s winner was Brenlee Mogul-Rotman, B.Sc., OT, OT Reg. (Ont), ATP/SMS, national clinical and technical education manager for Permobil.
