This year, the VGM Group’s Heartland Conference celebrates its 20th anniversary… just a little later than usual, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The conference, which takes place in VGM’s hometown of Waterloo, Iowa, has traditionally been held in June. But in 2021, attendees will gather in person Sept. 13-15. The conference will also feature a virtual component.
In a news announcement about the newly revealed event schedule, Kayla Mahler, VGM & Associates Brand Manager and Heartland Education Chair, said, “The Heartland Conference will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and we have scheduled some great new additions to make it one to remember. We want this milestone to be a valuable experience for each attendee, from the educational sessions to the social and networking events.”
Educational tracks include respiratory, accessibility, rehab, leadership, operations, sales and marketing, and billing and reimbursement. In-person conference attendees will be able to earn an estimated 15 contact hours/CEUs, the VGM announcement said.
“Heartland attendees are extremely engaged in their industries, and they’re looking for a back-and-forth dialog that discusses various perspectives,” Mahler said. “With our lineup of engaging sessions, 2021 is sure to exceed expectations. After a year of challenges, Heartland is a reminder of what we can accomplish as a community when we keep growing and diversifying. Together, we are part of something bigger, something that’s truly special.”
