Convaid & R82 Combine Sales & Marketing Forces

May 5, 2016 by Laurie Watanabe

R82 and Convaid have joined sales and marketing forces “to bring you one premium pediatric product line to support your customers with the broadest offering to provide the child and their caregivers the greatest freedom and ability to go places.”

The announcement came in a May 2 letter from Chris Braun, president of ETAC North America.

R82, popularly known as Snug Seat in the United States, acquired Convaid in December. At that time, Braun was Convaid’s president.

In his letter, Braun assured ATPs and clinicians that the companies would “continue to focus on innovation to improve mobility, health and independence through best-in-class pediatric products like wheelchairs, seating, standing, gait trainers, bathing and car seats.”

Braun added that going forward, ATPs and clinicians would have “one business development rep in a territory who will take care of all your pediatric needs” and would represent both Convaid’s and R82’s brands.

In a May 5 bulletin, Braun announced that Derek Fletcher had been appointed new Adult Products Manager for Molift, Immedia and R82 product lines, while Steve Ricker would be the Eastern Region Sales Manager for Convaid’s and R82’s pediatric product groups.

R82 products will continue to ship from the company’s Charlotte, N.C., location, and Convaid’s products will continue to be custom built and shipped from its Southern California headquarters.

Going forward, the companies will be expanding educational offerings, including online product training and online and face-to-face CEU courses.

Braun said that with the two companies coming together, most territories have become smaller, which will allow sales reps to spend more time with each customer. Convaid and R82 are also adding reps.

“Our intent,” Braun said, “is to make this integration as seamless as possible and to create the premier pediatric product line and company. Both the R82 and Convaid brands are known for their commitment to best-in-class products, operational excellence, customer service and loyalty. As of today, we hope to create an even better experience across an expanded offering.”
