United Access Names New President/CEO

February 14, 2018 by Laurie Watanabe

United Access, national provider of wheelchair-accessible vehicles and adaptive automotive technology, has named a new president/CEO.

Jeff Brummett, most recently the COO of United Access, has been promoted to take over for Richard May, the company’s founder.

May is retiring from day-to-day operations, but will remain chairman of the board, according to a United Access news announcement.

Brummett has been in the transportation industry for 35 years. He spent 22 years with Enterprise Rent-Car.

In the accessibility segment of the automotive industry, Brummett has served on the BraunAbility Advisory Council and the VMI Dealer Council. He currently serves on the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) board of directors as its representative at large.

“This is an exciting time for United Access,” Brummett said, “and I am thrilled to be taking on the role of CEO. United Access has a strong vision to be a market leader by ensuring we provide the best customer experience possible for our customers.”

May said of his successor, “I am delighted that Jeff will lead United Access into its next evolution. Jeff has been instrumental in the development and execution of our successful business model transition, and with his leadership, we are confident that our growth will continue well into the future.”

United Access has 26 locations, from Portland, Ore., to Syracuse, N.Y. In addition to providing wheelchair-accessible vehicles, the company sells vehicle lifts and driving aids including hand controls.
