ISS 2019 Issues Call for Papers

June 19, 2018 by Laurie Watanabe

The International Seating Symposium (ISS) is inviting complex rehab technology clinicians and assistive technology professionals to submit abstracts on its 2019 theme: Bridging the Gap from Data to Value.

The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology will host the event in March in its hometown. The ISS is seeking abstracts for one-hour courses; 4-hour pre-conference courses; 8-hour pre-conference courses; posters; and 15-minute paper sessions.

The deadline to submit abstracts is July 9.

In a June 18 news announcement, the ISS said it would give priority to proposals “on new and innovative topics that highlight evidence, outcomes, clinical applications, standards, and strategies to promote value-based interventions. Courses regarding neuromuscular disorders, spinal cord injury and diseases of the spinal cord, orthopedic disorders, systemic conditions, obesity, and polytrauma are preferred.”

The ISS takes place March 20-22 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Pre-conference workshops take place March 18-19. The exhibit hall will be open Tuesday, March 19, through Friday, March 22. The expo’s annual “Community Day” is March 19, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
