Mobility Ventures, manufacturer of the wheelchair-accessible MV-1 car, has introduced an LX version that it’s billing as “the first luxury vehicle in the United States designed and built exclusively for people with disabilities.”
Mobility Ventures said of the new release, “This is a distinctive, well-appointed luxury car that we’re exceptionally proud to bring to the market. The MV-1 fills a significant void in consumer, government and transportation fleet markets while providing unsurpassed accessibility, safety and comfort for its passengers.”
The MV-1, designed as an accessible vehicle, is built at AM General’s commercial assembly plant in Mishawaka, Ind. AM General now owns Mobility Ventures.
The manufacturer said it expects the MV-1 LX to appeal to both individual consumers and to transportation companies such as those that operate taxicabs and limousines.
