Mobility Ventures Names Domestic & International Sales Staff

January 17, 2014 by Laurie Watanabe

Mobility Ventures, the wholly owned subsidiary of AM General that will manufacture the wheelchair-accessible MV-1 vehicle, has announced its domestic and international sales staff.

Mobility Ventures VP of Sales & Marketing John Walsh said of the appointments, “Each of these experienced sales professionals has a proven track record of enhancing customer relationships and building successful partnerships in the transportation industry. These key additions will further strengthen the talented Mobility Ventures team that is focused on providing quality service and quickly delivering the world-class MV-1 to our customer network around the world.”

Steve Barker, director of sales & operations, is the former executive VP of sales for Vehicle Production Group (VPG), previous manufacturer of the MV-1. Barker also had a lengthy tenure with Sure-Lok, a wheelchair securement manufacturer.

Edward Cayer will serve in Mobility Ventures’ northeast sales & operations, with more than 35 years of experience in the mobility industry. Cayer, an Air Force veteran, was a VPG regional sales manager.

Pam Kulhanek will work in Mobility Ventures’ central regional sales & operations. Kulhanek has served in the transit industry and has worked with large transit dealers and department of transportation directors in the United States and Canada.

Terry Bland joins Mobility Ventures in southwest regional sales & operations. Bland has worked for more than 30 years in the mobile medical and transit industries and has been involved with large fleet and multi-million-dollar procurement projects in the transit industry.

Robert Legacy, in international business development & special projects, has an extensive background in the OEM automotive and commercial vehicle industry, with tenures at General Motors, Delphi and VPG.

The MV-1 will be built at AM General’s assembly plant in Mishawaka, Ind. VPG stopped production of the MV-1 last spring and laid off most of its workers. AM General, which had been assembling the MV-1 for VPG, subsequently purchased the MV-1, which was designed as a purpose-built wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
