Motion Concepts has taken its adjustable power seat elevation to new heights … literally.
Thanks to the reengineering of the ROVI A3 MPS Maxx Modular Power Standing System, Motion Concepts’ seat elevation can now achieve a height of up to 10 inches.
“The additional three inches of elevation supports a wider range of users’ everyday accessibility and body positioning needs,” Motion Concepts said in a Dec. 3 news announcement. “Seat elevation helps individuals to carry on conversations at eye level, reach items on surfaces without assistance, and take care of more of their needs independently during daily activities.”
The upgraded range in seat elevation, the manufacturer added, also helps to provide wheelchair riders with “the smoothest possible transition from seated to standing position,” said Motion Concepts Vice President of Sales Ann Quigley. The seat elevation works in concert with MPS components such as Motion Concept’s dynamic suspension locking system and its footplate leveling system.
Quigley added that the footplate leveling function keeps wheelchair riders’ feet in a more natural 90-degree position directly under them as they are moving from sitting to standing.
“We are pleased to offer this higher vertical seat elevation on our trusted ROVI A3 base in response to the feedback we received from our customers,” Quigley said. “We are constantly innovating ways to help our clients navigate their environment with greater independence and confidence while providing unmatched comfort and stability.”
Motion Concepts also recently launched a manual recline function for Invacare Corp. and ROVI power wheelchairs.
