Ottobock Announces New Team Members

September 25, 2014 by Laurie Watanabe

Ottobock has announced the addition of two team members to fill a pair of newly created positions.

Chris Wintenburg has been named the director of e-commerce and inside sales for North America.

In the news announcement Ottobock said Wintenburg’s responsibilities would include managing the manufacturer’s e-business relationships, “driving the overall success of North America online sales, increasing throughput and online sales for all business units and product categories, and managing inside sales efforts.”

Wintenburg’s past tenures include 13 years at Dell Inc., where he was online support product manager, e-business senior manager, services business manager and services solution director. Wintenburg also served in the U.S. Army as special operations team leader for the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, N.C., and the 19th Special Forces Group in Golden, Colo.

Matt Swiggum, executive VP of sales for Ottobock in North America, said of the appointment, “The creation of this new position is part of a focused effort to strategically reach our customers in multiple sales channels. Chris’s extensive experience in the important areas of online and inside sales makes him a particularly good fit to lead this effort, and we are pleased to have him join our team.”

Ottobock also announced the hiring of Aaron Holm, who is the new manager of consumer marketing and engagement.

The position was created, the manufacturer noted, “with the goal to impact product development processes and patient outcomes through the strengthening of Ottobock’s connection with the people who use its products.”

Holm lost both legs in a 2007 accident and has been using Ottobock microprocessor-controlled knees since then. He founded Wiggle Your Toes, a non-profit organization to support others living with limb loss, as he recovered in the hospital.

Scott Schneider, chief marketing officer for Ottobock North America, said of Holm, “In addition to the running of his non-profit, Aaron’s professional experience includes managing the operations and interfacing with customers of Tillges Certified Orthotic Prosthetic in Minn. These are powerful experiences that will fuel our drive to leap forward in our relationship with consumers and their friends and family, and we are pleased to have Aaron join our team to lead those efforts.”

While Holm’s personal experiences involve limb loss and prosthetics, he is familiar with a wide range of other mobility equipment and will be working with consumers who use any Ottobock products, including seating & mobility technology, an Ottobock representative said.
