Pride Mobility & Active Controls Announce Partnership

March 11, 2014 by Laurie Watanabe

Active Controls products can now be installed on Pride Mobility Products and Quantum Rehab power wheelchairs prior to delivery, thanks to a new partnership between the companies.

In a newsletter announcement, Active Controls said power chair providers and Veterans Affairs medical centers (VAMC) will be able to place their Pride Mobility or Quantum Rehab power chair order and request that the chair be shipped to Active Controls’ headquarters in Sewell, N.J.

The provider or VAMC can request an Active Controls online quote and indicate the type of Pride or Quantum Rehab power chair that is to be fitted with the Active Controls product.

“Turnaround at Active Controls takes about 48 hours,” the announcement said. “Pride’s logistics team arranges shipment to our mutual customer.”

Active Controls specializes in power wheelchair products that enable the chair’s driving controls to be moved midline, in a centralized position that Active Controls representatives say is more intuitive for many users, such as those transitioning from scooters to power chairs.

Active Controls’ products include the JoyBar, which offers scooter-like controls for power chair use, and the ReJoy, which brings joysticks and alternate drive controls to a midline position.
