Reliable Medical has acquired Freedom in Mobility, a Huntsville, Alabama-based Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) provider serving clients in Alabama and Tennessee.
The deal expands Reliable Medical’s footprint in those areas, the company said in a Sept. 14 announcement. Freedom in Mobility has three locations in north Alabama, west Tennessee and east Tennessee.
In announcing the deal, Reliable Medical CEO Charles Sargeant praised Freedom in Mobility’s President Teresa Glass Owens and Chief Operating Officer Forrest Owens: “Teresa and Forrest have built an exceptional CRT provider with the clinical expertise and community relationships that define the best of our industry. Freedom in Mobility’s ‘mobility made simple’ philosophy is a natural extension of the patient-first approach we champion at Reliable, and we’re proud to welcome their team into our network.”
Nashville-based Reliable Medical was founded in 1989 and currently has more than 50 locations nationwide. In January, the provider announced a new partnership with Gauge Capital “to provide growth capital and complete a recapitalization of the business.”
In the news announcement, David Friedman, partner at Gauge Capital, said, “We are thrilled to add a provider of Freedom in Mobility’s caliber to the Reliable platform. This transaction furthers our strategy of building a leading CRT and home medical equipment platform, and we look forward to supporting Teresa, Forrest and the broader Freedom in Mobility team as part of Reliable’s next phase of growth.”
