RESNA Seeks Board of Directors Candidates

February 28, 2019 by Laurie Watanabe

RESNA is seeking candidates to fill three seats on its Board of Directors.

The three new members will each serve a term of three years, from Aug. 1, 2019, through July 31, 2022.

In a Feb. 26 news announcement, RESNA said, “The primary requirement for serving as a member or officer of the Board of Directors is that the candidate must be a RESNA member in good standing for a period of three years immediately preceding their nomination. [While] board candidates have a history of participation in and contribution to RESNA organizational activities (e.g., SIGs, PSGs, Committees, Boards, and task forces), including having served in some leadership capacities, it is not required. There may be instances where candidates without extensive organizational experience are in a position to make an important contribution as a Board Member due to their particular background, skills, or contributions to the field or to other organizations.”

The RESNA Board of Directors, the organization added, is a working board that requires a significant time commitment. Board members’ duties and powers include adopting rules and regulations governing all members, and creating groups, councils and committees.

Nominations can be sent to [email protected]. The deadline for nominations is March 28.
