University of Pittsburgh Calls for ISS 2015 Papers

March 21, 2014 by Laurie Watanabe

Yes, you may have yet to file your expense reports for the International Seating Symposium (ISS) in Vancouver, B.C., a few weeks ago, but it’s time to start looking forward to the next ISS in Nashville, Tenn.

Mark your calendars: The 2015 ISS at the Gaylord Opryland Resort takes place a little earlier than in recent years. Pre-symposium workshops take place Feb. 24-25, with the symposium on Feb. 26-28.

Rehabilitation Science & Technology Continuing Education (RSTCE) and the University of Pittsburgh, the ISS hosts, are calling for proposals for half- and full-day pre-conference workshops, 75-minute instructional courses, paper presentations and poster presentations.

In announcing the call for papers, RSTCE and the University of Pittsburgh said, “Presentations can address a variety of seating and wheeled mobility topics related to people with disabilities across the lifespan with conditions such as neuromuscular disorders, spinal cord injury and diseases of the spinal cord, orthopedic conditions, systemic conditions, obesity or polytrauma.”

The bulletin said priority would be given to proposals with new topics or content that has not been previously presented and that were related to “service delivery, models of practice, technology innovations, outcomes and evidence-based practice, research findings, advocacy, policy, funding, and documentation.”

The submissions deadline is May 30, 2014. For more information, click HERE.
