Cure SMA’s 2020 Virtual Conference Is Next Week

June 3, 2020 by Laurie Watanabe

Cure SMA’s annual conference will be held virtually this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The face-to-face conference usually takes place over a weekend, and it simultaneously includes a professional conference for researchers, and a conference for people and families who are living with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

This year, both events are being held virtually. The family event will take place from Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12. The research and clinical care conference will be held June 10-12.

While the live events have required registration fees, Cure SMA is offering virtual event attendance free of charge for both conferences. The research and clinical care conference is limited to researchers working in the SMA field and healthcare providers working in research related to SMA or who are providing care to people with SMA.

This week, Cure SMA announced that the 2021 conference is scheduled for June 10-13 at the JW Marriott in Austin, Texas. The 2021 meeting will again host both researchers working in the SMA niche and families living with SMA.
