Graham-Field Health Products has introduced the Everest & Jennings PureTilt wheelchair, with 5 to 40 degrees of tilt and a 300-lb. weight capacity.
In an Aug. 25 announcement, Graham-Field noted, “The PureTilt comes standard with an ergonomic, contoured back that has adjustable height. Vital for comfort and pressure relief, this manual-tilt wheelchair has a user-adjusting tilt control, enabling the wheelchair user to readjust their own posture throughout the day.”
Other features include padded, hinged, non-detachable arms that swing up and back to facilitate transfers; a back that folds forward to make transportation and storage more convenient; 22-inch rear wheels with aluminum handrims; front casters that swivel for easy maneuvering; rear anti-tippers; and an angle-adjustable legrest assembly with a footplate that folds flat and locks in place.
The PureTilt is coded E1161. Accessories include right and left side pads, as well as larger leg and foot pads. The PureTilt’s seat width is 19.8 inches; its seat depth is 21 inches.
“The PureTilt patented tilt-in-space wheelchair,” the announcement added, “[was] designed by an occupational therapist to provide safe and independent transitions to facilitate optimal comfort for a patient.”
