The inventors of MagicWheels will hold bimonthly drawings throughout 2008 to donate a set of the two-gear manual wheelchair wheels to veterans across the country. MagicWheels were designed to enable manual wheelchair users to shift into a lower gear before climbing hills or maneuvering over uneventerrain.
MagicWheels also offer automatic hill-holding ability and assisted downhill braking. The goal is to reduce upper-extremity pain and injury in manual wheelchair users, which MagicWheels says includes some 2.2 million Americans living outside medical institutions.
