Motion Composites’ Veloce Wins Red Dot Award

June 28, 2019 by Laurie Watanabe

Motion Composites’ Veloce carbon fiber wheelchair has won a Red Dot Award for design for 2018.

The folding ultralightweight chair is the manufacturer’s second chair to win a Red Dot design award. Motion Composites’ rigid-framed APEX, also made of carbon fiber, won a Red Dot award in 2017.

Eric Simoneau, President and CEO of Motion Composites, said in a news announcement, “From the beginning, Motion Composites has been laser-focused on developing best-in-class wheelchairs which are not only very light and durable, but also incorporate unique design elements. Selecting the right wheelchair is a very personal decision for our users, and the Veloce is a great choice for someone that wants a foldable model that can be perfectly adjusted to meet their everyday needs.”

Motion Composites launched Veloce in 2018, calling it the company’s most technically advanced folding model. The manufacturer lauded the chair’s unibody frame with symmetrical crossbrace, integrated impact guards and bubble levels, and “unparalleled adjustability at key points.”
