Motion Expands Into Winnipeg

July 14, 2021 by Laurie Watanabe

Motion has now expanded into Manitoba with the acquisition of Canadian Health Care Products (CHCP) in late June.

Based in Winnipeg, Canadian Health Care Products provides Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) as well as durable medical equipment. Canadian Health Care Products was established in 1999 and has become one of the largest home medical equipment providers in Manitoba.

Thecla Sweeney, Executive Chair and CEO of Motion, said in a news announcement, “Motion’s acquisition of Canadian Health Care Products Ltd. further accelerates our rapid growth in 2021. We are excited to return to the province of Manitoba with a corporate location. In partnership with CHCP and its founder Joe Perry, Motion will continue to serve the unique mobility and accessibility needs of Manitobans while upholding our commitment to make life accessible for all Canadians.”

Perry said in the announcement, “After 30 years of business, it brings us great pride to merge with Motion – Canada’s leading medical equipment dealer. It’s fitting that our motto has always been ‘Keeping Canadians in motion,’ as we are now seeing that motto come to life through this integration.”

The new location will be known as Motion Winnipeg.

Motion, formerly known as Motion Specialties, has been serving clients in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan for more than 35 years. Motion has more than 40 locations across Canada.
