RESNA Names New Board Members

The Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) has announced its new board members for 2014-2015.

The new members are:

— Patricia Bahr, MSE, ATP, RET. Bahr, a rehabilitation engineer at the Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minn., will serve as RESNA treasurer.

— Meghan Donahue, MS, ATP, is a rehabilitation engineer at the Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute in Menomonie, Wisc.

— Patricia Karg, MSBME, is a rehabilitation engineer at the University of Pittsburgh.

— Jamie Arasz Prioli, ATP, is with Pennsylvania’s Initiative on Assistive Technology.

— Maria Luisa Toro Hernandez, ATP, is with the University of Pittsburgh.

They’ll join incoming President Ray Grott, MA, ATP, RET, and newly elected RESNA board members who were previously introduced:

— Roger O. Smith, Ph.D., OT, FAOTA, is President-Elect and has served the past two years as a RESNA board member.

— Maureen Linden, MS, has served the past year as a board member, and has been the chair of the Student Design Competition. Linden will serve as secretary.

— Barbara Crane, Ph.D., PT, ATP/SMS, is a RESNA Fellow and has also served as a RESNA course instructor.

— Rajesh Pagadala, MSBME, ATP, RET, has been serving as the Special Interest Groups Chair, and will continue in that position. Pagadala has also been appointed to the executive committee as the at-large member.

— Julie Piriano, PT, ATP/SMS, has been serving as a member of RESNA’s Professional Standards Board.

The board also includes Alex Mihailidis, Ph.D., PEng, who is the immediate past president, and Denis Anson, MS, OTR; Anne Cronin, Ph.D., OTR/L; Heidi Horstmann Koester, Ph.D.; and Lauren Rosen, PT, MPT, MSMS, ATP/SMS.

Several members who’ve completed their terms are departing the RESNA board: Jerry Weisman, MSME, ATP, RET, immediate past president; Jennifer Boger, PEng, MASc, BASc; Clayton Lewis, Ph.D.; Amanda Reinsfelder, MS, ATP; and Richard Simpson, Ph.D., ATP.
