Vantage Mobility Wins Military Service Award

April 2, 2018 by Laurie Watanabe

Vantage Mobility International (VMI), manufacturer of wheelchair-accessible vehicles, is being recognized by a United States military organization for its contributions to disabled veterans.

The non-profit Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) announced that one of its 2018 Distinguished Service Award recipients is VMI CEO Tim Barone. “Tim Barone and Vantage Mobility International are helping wounded service members reclaim independence,” said MOAA President/CEO retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Dana Atkins. “That impacts every aspect of their lives.”

In acknowledging the award, Barone said, “VMI’s mission is to never forget the challenges that our customers face every day, and our dedicated Veteran Advocate Center (VAC) is all about having a team of employees committed to meeting the needs of our veteran customer base. The employees who work in that department are veterans themselves and can truly relate to their needs.”

Phoenix-based VMI offers a range of accessible vehicles, including the new VMI Honda Pilot SUV (pictured). VMI also sells side-entry minivans, including the popular Toyota Sienna, and vehicle platform lifts.

The company’s Veteran Advocate Center supports veterans through the mobility vehicle process by providing education on accessible vehicles and helping them to determine their eligibility for Veterans Affairs programs.”
